What categories are there?
There are still many cars from the 90s and early 2000s that are part of the street traffic. In Germany, for example, there are about 9 million cars aged between 15 and 29 years. These cars belong to two categories. The first is a used car that is still running and relatively affordable. The other category is the youngtimer, a car that is recognized by collectors as a model driven only in leisure time. Only the representatives of the last category have a chance not to be depreciated and become classic cars.
Emotions play a major role in the purchase of a young timer. It concerns criteria such as appearance, image, power. Sooner or later, however, reliability and suitability for everyday life also turn out to be important. We have selected for you a list of young timers that are recommended as future classics:
VW New Beetle Cabrio (2002 – 2004)
This car is named after a historic original. It is a symbol of simple, calm and relaxed riding under the open sky. It has great potential to become a real classic find.
VW Golf 4 R32 (2002 – 2004)
This top version of the simple and reliable VW Golf 4 is sure to get the title of a classic car. And by the way, it drives literally like a rally car, knows how to “roar” loudly and has a massive vision.
VW Passat W8 (2001 – 2004)
This is definitely an interesting car. The smallest engine is a 1.6 and the largest is an 8-cylinder engine that generates a power of 275 horsepower. Unfortunately, it is not very reliable, but it is very rare. Only 11,000 cars were produced, and it is also available as a wagon option, which is even rarer.
VW Phaeton (2002 – 2016)
Because it is the progenitor of all Volkswagen luxury models – or else it is the sweetest temptation of the Wolfsburg grandiose.
VW T4 California (1990 – 2003)
